The rapper for the Wonder Girls brought out her tough-girl persona to portray a femme fatale in a hotel room. Cold, sexy, and alluring, there’s no trace of a K-pop idol here — only a woman who knows exactly what she wants.

SNSD‘s Sooyoung and Tiffany transform into antique dolls for the December edition of ‘Vogue Korea‘.

These photos were taken by the famous photographer Jo Sun Hee and have a sophisticated fairytale theme. Professional model Kim Won Joong acted as a toy soldier for the pictorial.

With hair teased into a cat-ear-like form and dark make-up, Sooyoung is dolled up in a white and red checkered frock as well as a white dress with ribbons cascading onto the floor. Similarly, Tiffany sports a white dress with black heels and a lacy black dress paired with satin cream heels.

ELLE shares BTS video of YG ladies’ ‘fairytale gothic’ photoshoot

A few days ago, 2NE1‘s Sandara Park revealed that YG Entertainment was working with ELLEmagazine for their annual charity project, ‘Share Happiness‘.

On November 20th, the magazine’s official YouTube channel uploaded a video comprised of cuts from the photoshoot. The concept appears to be ‘Fairytale Gothic’, and so we see 2NE1, Jung Hye Young,Gummy, Yoo In Na, and Kang Hye Jung all take on looks and characters inspired by popular fairytales.

SNSD’s Yoona appears in elementary school text book

A photo of SNSD member Yoona appeared in a school textbook.

An online community site posted the photo above, which was on the 15th page of a second semester sixth grade Social Affairs and Research curriculum textbook.

The curriculum discussed elections and voting, and a photo of Yoona placing her own vote in a ballot box was added to enrich the text.

Netizens who saw the photo online commented, “She even makes appearances in textbooks now“, “I wish she made appearances in text books sooner“, and “This is the first time I’ve been jealous of sixth grade students“.

IU reveals a second teaser for her new album, “Last Fantasy”

On the heels of her first teaser image released on the 17th, the ‘nation’s little sister’ IU dropped another appetite-whetting image of her comeback, firing up her fans even more for her anticipated return.

In the released image, IU rocks a chic navy blue knit cape while lolling about on a feathery bed and peering at the camera.

The tracklist for her second full album is scheduled to drop on the 22nd at 7:00 PM KST, along with teaser previews for two of the tracks.

Starting from November 22nd, a preview snippet will be released every day to tease the public with songs from IU’s new album. “It will be an opportunity to have an early meeting with IU’s improved musicality,” said LOEN Entertainment. “We hope that her fans will anticipate her new album.”

Meanwhile, the full album, titled “Last Fantasy“, will drop on November 29th.

IU reveals her comeback teaser photo

Loen Entertainment has unveiled the official concept photo for IU‘s second full-length album!

On November 17th, Loen released the photo through their official Twitter, along with the message, “If you blink, you become an adult.”

The agency explained, “IU’s 2nd full-length album will be an album that shows an IU who is currently standing on the border between the ages of 19 and 20. ['20' is a significant age in Korea, as it signals legal adulthood] We hope fans will look forward to and take interest in IU’s comeback.”

IU’s upcoming album will be released on November 29th, but the tracks will be unveiled on the 22nd.

YG Unveils Kim Eun Bi's Official Profile Picture

After signing Superstar K2‘s Kim Eun Bi into their agency back in January, YG Entertainment has finally released an official profile picture of their upcoming star.

On November 21st, YG updated their ‘YG-life‘ blog with a new photo of Kim Eun Bi (18). The sweetheart from the popular audition program has transformed into a confident young woman with a loud sense of style.

Netizens immediately pointed out that the transformation seems a bit too dramatic, however, prompting rumors of plastic surgery to rise. In response, representatives of YG stated, “During that time, Kim Eun Bi practiced every day and lost 8 kg compared to her ‘Superstar K2′ days.”

YG also released a statement earlier today about how their new 5~7 member girl group (which Kim Eunbi is a part of) will not receive any plastic surgery treatments, as they want to introduce a girl group that emphasizes natural beauty.

Wonder Girls make a stunning transformation for VOGUE Korea

Now that the Wonder Girls are back in town, Korea has been enjoying a look at the five ladies’ maturation from k-pop idols into multi-faceted international stars. Though the December issue ofVOGUE Korea was only just released, JYPE has revealed stunning photos on the group’s official Twitter from their new pictorial in the magazine.

A large step away from their “Be My Baby“ concept, this pictorial gives the public an entirely new side of the girls, who each undergo a dramatic transformation. Sunye‘s coffee-colored hair is teased into a dramatic poof as she poses with a flamingo, and Ye Eun looks like a regal snow queen as she perches on a white wooden horse with eye-catching black make-up. Yubin and Lim pose together, the maknae with a large frizz of fire-red hair, and the rapper is suited up in black with a large red, feathered top hat on her head. Finally, resident fashionista Sohee looks chic as always with a blonde afro-style hairdo and black wardrobe pieces.

Despite the shocking change, all five ladies are able to pull off this whimsical high fashion look, which looks like something right off the pages of a storybook. With Sohee’s Louis Vuitton inspired bunny ears and clock and Yubin’s Mad Hatter-like top hat, the photo shoot transports the viewer into a dark, Lewis Carroll-inspired wonderland.

Super Junior, 2NE1, and HyunA receive awards at ’2011 YouTube Kpop Awards’

Super Junior, 2NE1, and HyunA have been making headlines all year with their YouTube view counts. On November 22nd, these three teams received awards at the ’2011 YouTube Kpop Awards’at Google Korea in Seoul.

HyunA stated, “I was surprised at the large amount of YouTube viewcounts. I saw a lot of people upload videos with my song, and there were many who were better than me; I gained strength [from seeing all the videos].”

2NE1, who had three videos in the Top 10, commented, “We will continue to upload a lot of cool videos in the future. Please show them lots of love. We put a lot of effort into showing you a lot of things in ‘I Am The Best’ music video, so I think that is probably why a lot of people watched the video.”

Super Junior’s Leeteuk stated, “This award is especially more valuable because fans all over the world were the ones who made this award possible. We will continue to spread the Korea’s culture throughout the world… I also clicked on our music video 10 times. Whenever we’d go perform overseas, the clip would be uploaded onto YouTube right away. Seeing this, I felt how strong media’s power had become.”

Super Junior received 1st place with 26.9 million views for “Mr. Simple”, followed by 2NE1 with 22 million views for ‘I Am The Best’, while 3rd place went to Hyuna with 21.6 million views for “Bubble Pop”.
